Fabulous vibes here! Staff is welcoming and friendly. The food is enticing and still looks as nice as it does in the pictures on the menu, once it arrives to the table. 10/10 from breakfast-food lover!

2/11/2024 11:45am This was my first time visiting a Jimmy’s Egg, having driven past dozens during my travels. The lady that greeted me seemed a little cold and machine like, and the girl that seated me seemed the same. However, I didn’t let that bother me as Twyla was my server and seemed more pleasant. The atmosphere was not as muted as a Denny’s and I attribute that to harder surfaces that were more tuned to a diner/cafe environment. No carpeted or cloth surface’s to absorb noise, which also helps to not absorb liquids or create areas to stain. Basically, it makes for better cleanliness. The menu didn’t have anything that I would bring to attention. I selected a simple menu item...Two eggs, two bacon strips, a sausage patty, and two pancakes. The food came promptly, despite the place being busy for a Sunday. Overall, it’s a great place to eat, and I couldn’t find a reason for someone to be disappointed. If you have some loud types or crying kids in the place, then it could be a problem, as it would be an echo chamber. A great visit and good food!

Jimmy’s Egg sits on the edge of town like a waiting room for people who don’t yet know they’ve been judged. The parking lot’s full by 8 a.m.—trucks idling, coffee cups balanced on dashboards, and men with faces like dried creek beds stepping heavy toward the door. Inside, the light is too bright, the booths too close, and the air smells like forgiveness if it were fried in bacon grease and served with a side of hash browns. The waitress was a wiry woman with a voice like a screen door and a neck that turned slow, like she didn’t trust what might be behind her. She called everyone “hon” with the same conviction a preacher has when he says “repent.” Her name tag read Claudine and I have no doubt she’s seen some things, probably buried a few of them under the tiles in the kitchen. I ordered the country skillet, mostly because I liked the way it sounded—like something you eat before setting fire to a barn. It arrived heaped and sizzling, eggs over-medium with just enough run to remind you that nature doesn’t always finish what it starts. The sausage was spicy in a way that made me feel watched. The potatoes were good—too good, maybe—and I began to wonder if anyone who eats at Jimmy’s Egg ever really leaves, or if they just dissolve into the furniture one booth at a time, their souls spooned up with gravy and passed on to the next. There was a man in the corner with a comb-over like a failed evangelist, muttering into his toast. Behind him, a little girl stared at her pancake as though it might bite first. The whole place felt like it knew something I didn’t, some divine joke whispered behind the counter, and I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to laugh or confess. If salvation comes with coffee refills and hot sauce, Jimmy’s Egg might just be a holy place. But if not—well, it’s still a hell of a breakfast.
